Education for Gymnastics Coaches

Hi All,

So possibly one of my favorite things to do in the gym world is to go to clinics. Which I have to say, I don’t get to do nearly enough. But I always want to learn more, I always want to here different ideas on how to teach skills, how other people approach the sport etc. The more we learn the better we are able to help our gymnasts become the best they can be. A lot of ideas get passed around at TOPs camps and that’s where today’s videos are going to come from.

This first one is Enrique Trabanino showing a few drills/conditioning exercises you should really be doing in your gyms. The nice thing is he also shows them being done incorrectly. It gives you a really clear look at what you should be looking for.

This second one also comes from TOPs camp. It’s 1) a really good pirouetting drill 2) a really good way to start youngsters. If you start gymnasts pirouetting like this the muscle memory they develop is much greater/they tend to have better shapes.
