Little steps

Hi All!

So today I’m going to talk a little about breaking down skills. This to me is of the UTMOST importance. I think it gives kids a better chance to get over the Fear Monster. But it also leads to a better overall quality of technique if the drills and progressions are done properly.

This first video is of a nice progression on beam. It’s generally my second or third step when putting new skills on the beam. Step 1. Get it on a line Step 2. Get it going up to a panel mat Step 3. Start on the beam land on a panel mat off the beam. Though I usually keep doing 2 while doing 3.

This second one is of a really nice blind progression. It’s easier to spot shapes, and the kids get comfortable being upside down on one arm.

Train hard!
